These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the #BlackSLPMagic website, event registration platform, ticketing services, merchandise store, digital content, and participation in #BlackSLPMagic Conference events, SLP Social Seen experiences, workshops, networking events, receptions, and related programming.

Throughout these Terms, “#BlackSLPMagic,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to #BlackSLPMagic Conference and its authorized representatives, organizers, contractors, and event partners.

By accessing our website, purchasing a ticket or product, registering for an event, participating in an event, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website, purchase tickets, or participate in our events.

1. About #BlackSLPMagic

#BlackSLPMagic is a professional development, educational, networking, and community-building platform serving speech-language pathologists, audiologists, students, allied health professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, and related professionals.

Our programming may include:

​

  • Professional conferences

  • Continuing education opportunities

  • Networking events

  • SLP Social Seen experiences

  • Business and career development

  • Vendor marketplaces

  • Sponsor activations

  • Workshops

  • Panel discussions

  • Social events and receptions

  • Merchandise

  • Giveaways and promotional opportunities

  • Digital resources

 

Although #BlackSLPMagic was created to intentionally uplift and increase visibility for Black professionals within communication sciences and related fields, our events are open to attendees of all backgrounds who participate respectfully and in alignment with our community standards.

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the #BlackSLPMagic website, event registration platform, ticketing services, merchandise store, digital content, and participation in #BlackSLPMagic Conference events, SLP Social Seen experiences, workshops, networking events, receptions, and related programming.

Throughout these Terms, “#BlackSLPMagic,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to #BlackSLPMagic Conference and its authorized representatives, organizers, contractors, and event partners.

By accessing our website, purchasing a ticket or product, registering for an event, participating in an event, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

​

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website, purchase tickets, or participate in our events.

2. Event Tickets

A valid ticket is required for entry into ticketed #BlackSLPMagic and SLP Social Seen Reception events.

​

Ticket holders may be required to present:

​

  • A digital or printed ticket

  • Government-issued identification

  • Registration confirmation

  • Venue credentials or security passes

  • Any additional documentation required by the venue

​

Tickets are valid only for the event, date, ticket type, and experience indicated at the time of purchase.

​

Admission to one event does not automatically include admission to another event unless the ticket specifically states that it is an All-Access, Joint, Combination, or similar ticket.

​

For example, a conference-only ticket does not automatically include admission to a separately ticketed SLP Social Seen event.

3. All Sales Are Final

Unless otherwise expressly stated in writing by #BlackSLPMagic:

ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL.

​

We do not offer refunds for:

​

  • Change of plans

  • Illness

  • Work conflicts

  • Travel delays

  • Flight cancellations

  • Weather conditions

  • Transportation disruptions

  • Failure to obtain lodging

  • Failure to arrive on time

  • Failure to attend

  • Failure to complete CE requirements

  • Personal emergencies

  • Scheduling conflicts

  • Failure to review event information

​

Purchasing a ticket confirms your understanding and acceptance of this policy.

4. Ticket Transfers

When permitted by #BlackSLPMagic, a ticket may be transferred to another attendee before the applicable transfer deadline.

​

The original purchaser may be required to provide:

​

  • Original ticket holder name

  • New attendee's full legal name

  • New attendee's email address

  • Ticket type

  • Any additional information required by the venue or registration platform

​

A ticket transfer is not complete until confirmed by #BlackSLPMagic.

​

Venue security credentials, visitor passes, or building-access passes may be issued separately and may not be transferable without approval.

​

We are not responsible for entry problems resulting from unauthorized ticket transfers.

5. Event Changes

Event schedules, speakers, presenters, vendors, sponsors, activities, food offerings, programming, venues, and experiences are subject to change.

​

We reserve the right to:

​

  • Modify the agenda

  • Substitute speakers

  • Adjust session times

  • Change rooms or venues

  • Modify food or beverage offerings

  • Add or remove activities

  • Change event partners

  • Adjust event capacity

  • Modify event format

  • Reschedule programming when reasonably necessary

​

Changes to individual speakers, vendors, activities, or program elements do not automatically entitle a ticket holder to a refund.

6. Weather, Travel Disruptions & Force Majeure

#BlackSLPMagic is not responsible for circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

​

  • Severe weather

  • Hurricanes

  • Tropical storms

  • Nor'easters

  • Flooding

  • Natural disasters

  • Airline delays or cancellations

  • Transportation interruptions

  • Power outages

  • Government restrictions

  • Public health emergencies

  • Labor disputes

  • Civil disturbances

  • Venue emergencies

  • Acts of God

  • Internet or technology failures

​

Attendees are responsible for making their own transportation, lodging, and travel arrangements.

​

If an event proceeds as scheduled, a participant's inability to attend because of travel, weather, or transportation circumstances does not automatically qualify for a refund.

​

If #BlackSLPMagic cancels or materially reschedules an event, we will communicate available options to affected ticket holders.

7. Continuing Education & ASHA CEUs

Certain #BlackSLPMagic events may offer continuing education opportunities.

​

When ASHA CEUs or contact hours are advertised, participants are responsible for meeting all applicable requirements.

​

Requirements may include:

​

  • Attending required sessions

  • Checking in

  • Remaining present for the required amount of time

  • Completing attendance verification

  • Completing surveys

  • Scanning required QR codes

  • Providing accurate ASHA information

  • Submitting required forms before published deadlines

​

Failure to complete any required step or deadline may result in the participant being ineligible to receive continuing education credit.

​

#BlackSLPMagic cannot guarantee CEU credit for participants who fail to satisfy applicable requirements.

​

When CEUs are administered or reported through a third-party continuing education provider, participants may also be subject to that provider's policies and procedures.

​

Advertising an event as offering continuing education does not guarantee that every attendee will receive credit.

8. Educational Disclaimer

Information presented during #BlackSLPMagic programming is provided for educational and professional-development purposes.

​

Conference presentations do not constitute individualized:

​

  • Medical advice

  • Legal advice

  • Tax advice

  • Financial advice

  • Employment advice

  • Business advice

  • Clinical supervision

​

Presenters are responsible for their own statements, materials, recommendations, and professional opinions.

​

Attendees are responsible for exercising their own professional judgment and complying with applicable laws, licensure requirements, ethical standards, workplace policies, and professional regulations.

9. Speakers & Presenters

The views expressed by speakers, panelists, presenters, sponsors, vendors, or guests are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of #BlackSLPMagic.

We do not guarantee:

​

  • Any particular speaker's availability

  • Specific presentation content

  • Individual professional outcomes

  • Business results

  • Career advancement

  • Financial results

  • Employment opportunities

10. Photography, Video & Recording

Photography and videography may occur throughout #BlackSLPMagic events.

​

By attending an event, you understand that you may appear in:

​

  • Photographs

  • Videos

  • Social media content

  • Reels

  • Promotional materials

  • Website content

  • Advertising

  • Recap videos

  • Press or media coverage

  • Future event marketing

​

By entering the event space, you grant #BlackSLPMagic permission to photograph, film, record, reproduce, publish, and use your image, likeness, and voice for legitimate promotional, educational, archival, and marketing purposes without additional compensation, to the extent permitted by law.

​

Attendees with specific privacy or accessibility concerns should contact us before the event.

​

Professional cameras, commercial filming equipment, or unauthorized professional photography may be prohibited without prior written approval.

11. Attendee Conduct

#BlackSLPMagic is committed to creating a respectful and inclusive professional environment.

​

Attendees may not engage in:

​

  • Harassment

  • Threats

  • Discrimination

  • Bullying

  • Violence

  • Intimidation

  • Stalking

  • Disruptive behavior

  • Unsafe conduct

  • Unauthorized solicitation

  • Damage to venue property

  • Conduct that interferes with another attendee's experience

​

We reserve the right to remove any attendee whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, unlawful, or inconsistent with event standards.

​

Removal for misconduct does not entitle the attendee to a refund.

12. Venue Rules & Security

Attendees must comply with all venue rules and security procedures.

​

Requirements may include:

​

  • Security screening

  • Identification verification

  • Visitor passes

  • Wristbands

  • Bag restrictions

  • Alcohol policies

  • Capacity limits

  • Entry and re-entry rules

  • Restricted areas

​

The venue may deny entry to individuals who fail to comply with its policies.

​

#BlackSLPMagic is not responsible for a participant's failure to comply with venue requirements.

13. Alcohol

Certain events may include alcoholic beverages.

​

You must be at least 21 years old to consume alcohol at events held in the United States.

​

Government-issued identification may be required.

​

Guests are responsible for drinking responsibly and arranging safe transportation.

​

#BlackSLPMagic reserves the right to refuse alcohol service or remove a guest whose conduct creates a safety concern.

14. Food, Allergies & Dietary Restrictions

Food and beverages may be provided during certain events.

​

Although we may request information regarding dietary preferences or allergies, we cannot guarantee that food will be completely free from specific allergens or cross-contact.

​

Attendees with serious allergies or medical dietary requirements are responsible for exercising appropriate caution and contacting us before attending.

15. Vendors

#BlackSLPMagic events may include independent vendors.

​

Unless specifically stated otherwise, vendors are independent businesses and are not employees or agents of #BlackSLPMagic.

​

Purchases, agreements, services, warranties, and disputes involving an attendee and a vendor are between those parties.

​

#BlackSLPMagic is not responsible for the quality, safety, fulfillment, delivery, accuracy, or performance of third-party products or services.

16. Sponsors & Brand Partners

#BlackSLPMagic may receive financial support, products, services, giveaways, promotional items, or other consideration from sponsors and brand partners.

​

Sponsor participation does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of every product, service, statement, or claim made by that sponsor.

​

Sponsor benefits and promotional opportunities may vary by event and sponsorship agreement.

17. Giveaways & Promotions

Giveaways may be offered during events.

​

Giveaways may be provided by #BlackSLPMagic or by third-party sponsors.

​

Eligibility requirements, redemption instructions, deadlines, and restrictions may vary.

​

Winners may be required to provide:

​

  • Full name

  • Email

  • Mailing address

  • Contact information

  • Any information reasonably necessary for fulfillment

​

Third-party sponsored giveaways may require direct redemption with the sponsoring company.

​

#BlackSLPMagic is not responsible for delays or limitations imposed by third-party giveaway providers, but attendees may contact us if assistance is needed.

​

Unless otherwise stated, giveaway prizes:

​

  • Have no cash alternative

  • May not be exchanged

  • May be subject to sponsor terms

  • May have expiration or redemption deadlines

18. Merchandise

Merchandise colors, measurements, sizing, placement, and appearance may vary slightly from digital images or mockups.

Unless otherwise stated, merchandise sales are final.

​

Customers are responsible for selecting the correct size and providing an accurate shipping address.

​

We are not responsible for shipping delays caused by postal carriers after an order has been transferred to the carrier.

​

If merchandise arrives damaged or an incorrect item is received, contact us promptly at blackslpmagic@gmail.com.

19. Missed Event Merchandise

When offered at our discretion, registered attendees who were unable to attend an event may be eligible to have certain conference merchandise mailed to them.

​

This accommodation:

​

  • Does not constitute a refund

  • Does not guarantee replacement of all event materials

  • May require confirmation of the original registration

  • May require an accurate mailing address

​

Shipping timelines may vary.

20. Online Purchases & Payments

By purchasing through our website or ticketing platform, you represent that:

  • Payment information is accurate

  • You are authorized to use the payment method

  • Billing information is accurate

  • You agree to the advertised purchase terms

​

Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors.

​

We are not responsible for technical problems caused solely by third-party payment platforms.

21. Chargebacks

Before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute, please contact us at blackslpmagic@gmail.com so we have an opportunity to address the issue.

Initiating a fraudulent or improper chargeback may result in:

  • Cancellation of registration

  • Revocation of event access

  • Restriction from future purchases

  • Collection of amounts legitimately owed

Nothing in this section limits rights available to consumers under applicable law.

22. Digital Resources

Digital downloads, templates, recordings, guides, and other digital materials are licensed to the purchaser for personal or professional use as specified at the time of purchase.

Unless expressly permitted, digital materials may not be:

  • Resold

  • Republished

  • Uploaded publicly

  • Distributed to others

  • Reproduced commercially

  • Used to create competing products

23. Intellectual Property

The #BlackSLPMagic name, branding, event concepts, graphics, logos, website content, conference materials, written content, merchandise designs, videos, photographs, and original materials may be protected by copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property laws.

You may not use, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license, or commercially exploit our protected materials without written permission.

​

Personal social-media sharing from events is encouraged when appropriate.

​

and use applicable event hashtags when provided.

24. User-Generated Content

If you tag #BlackSLPMagic, submit photos or videos to us, participate in an event activation, or otherwise voluntarily provide content for reposting, you represent that you have the right to share that content.

We may repost publicly shared content that tags or references our event, subject to applicable platform rules and law.

25. Third-Party Websites

Our website may contain links to:

  • Sponsors

  • Vendors

  • Hotels

  • Venues

  • Ticket platforms

  • Continuing education providers

  • Travel providers

  • Social media platforms

  • Other third-party services

These third-party websites are independently operated.

​

We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, policies, products, services, availability, or security.

​

We encourage you to review their terms and privacy policies before providing personal information or making purchases.

26. Hotel & Travel Arrangements

Any hotel block, discount code, airline information, or travel recommendation provided by #BlackSLPMagic is offered for attendee convenience.

​

Hotel reservations and travel arrangements are separate agreements between the attendee and the applicable travel provider.

​

Attendees are responsible for reviewing:

​

  • Cancellation policies

  • Deposit requirements

  • Hotel terms

  • Flight restrictions

  • Transportation policies

#BlackSLPMagic is not responsible for disputes involving hotels, airlines, transportation providers, or other travel businesses.

27. Accessibility

We strive to create welcoming and accessible experiences.

Guests who need reasonable accommodations should contact us as early as possible before the applicable event.

​

Although we will make reasonable efforts to coordinate appropriate accommodations, some requests may depend on venue capabilities, available resources, or advance notice.

28. Email Communications

By registering for an event, purchasing a product, or subscribing through our website, you may receive transactional communications including:

  • CEU instructions

  • Schedule updates

  • Ticket information

  • Purchase confirmations

  • Important safety or operational updates

Certain transactional emails related to an active purchase or event registration may still be sent.

Participation in an in-person event involves ordinary risks associated with:

  • Travel

  • Crowds

  • Walking

  • Food and beverages

  • Alcohol

  • Photography

  • Dancing

  • Social activities

  • Venue facilities

By attending, you voluntarily accept the ordinary risks associated with participation.

33. No Guaranteed Outcomes

Attendance at a #BlackSLPMagic event does not guarantee:

  • Employment

  • Promotion

  • Salary increases

  • Business revenue

  • Private-practice success

  • Sponsorship

  • Professional referrals

  • Admission into academic programs

  • Clinical outcomes

  • Networking results

  • Financial results

Attendees are responsible for their own professional and business decisions.

34. Website Disclaimer

The website and its content are provided for informational, educational, promotional, and transactional purposes.

We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate but do not guarantee that every page will always be error-free or completely current.

Event information may change as planning evolves.

35. Third-Party Advertising & Affiliate Relationships

The existence of a financial relationship does not eliminate the user's responsibility to independently evaluate a product or service.

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, the parties agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve disputes informally.

Any legal provision in these Terms that is determined to be unenforceable shall be modified or severed to the minimum extent necessary without affecting the remainder of the Terms.

38. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions as our business, website, services, or events evolve.

The current version will be posted on our website along with the applicable “Last Updated” date.

Continued use of our website or services after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
